Built with teachers typing Scripture in real classrooms.

Schools use Type the Word to assign Bible typing passages through their classroom LMS. These assignments let students practice typing while memorizing the Bible.

"Type the Word has been a wonderful addition to our middle school classrooms. It gives our students an engaging, distraction-free way to build keyboarding skills while spending time in God's Word through meaningful Scripture practice that reinforces learning across our content areas. Our teachers also love how easily it integrates with Google Classroom, making it simple to incorporate into daily instruction."

"This is an awesome platform for teachers to grow students’ typing abilities and learn the Word. It is a blessing that I found it!"

"I've enjoyed using Type the Word with my classroom as it lets my students improve their typing while meditating on Scripture. I've loved seeing their excitement in being able to type their favorite passages and/or finish a whole book of the Bible, and it's really easy for them to log on and pick up on their current assignment. It's been great for them practicing their memory verses as well with the various memory modes."

Values.

Education software that aligns with your values.

01

Ad-free forever

The mission of Type the Word is for God to be glorified as we focus our attention on Him. Ads are inherently a distraction, so Type the Word will never have them.

02

Bible and biblical texts only

Typing is meditating, so Type the Word has been designed specifically to be a safe place for you to hear Biblical truth.

03

Your data is your data

Type the Word has been designed for you to practice your typing and you can request to delete your data at any time.

04

Anti-Dopamine Hacking

Type the Word's design is designed to develop students executive system through the delayed gratification of hitting long term goals. All gamification features will be opt-in.

05

"Your kingdom come"

TTW's north star is students growing in knowledge of God's word and seeking first his kingdom.

06

Small tech by design with God-sized goals

Type the Word is intentionally a small software company. This helps us stay true to our values, while also pursuing the dream: a generation of students who know God more and have key passages of scripture memorized.

07

Plurality of leadership

At the moment, Type the Word is mainly led my me (Josh Wootonn), but I don't believe leading is a solo sport. As TTW grows, my goal is to share this stewardship with a board of other believers for wisdom and accountability. I learned and grew to love this value from my local church. Here's an excerpt on the topic. Austin does a great job articulating why this is important.

08

Generous giving

Matthew 6:21 says, "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Because of this, Type the Word is committed to giving 5% of its profits to Bible translation organizations like Wycliffe Bible Translators and illumiNations.

09

For all Christian traditions

Type the Word is built to serve Christians across traditions, including Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox schools. Each school can choose the Bible translations and content its students have access to, keeping their experience aligned with the school's tradition and values.
